The end is near

The weather in Vancouver is finally nice and by nice I mean mid 80's and great. I have ten more days of school and I can't wait for this year to be over! It has been stressful with two teacher leaving on 'medical leave'. One just quit last week- 15 days from the last day of school and the year he was retiring. I just don't get it. Some people really do not like Brian, I think he is a pretty good principal- when he is not commenting on my tan that is. :)

I bought Joelle's airline ticket yesterday. It was $2.39 after I applied my amex points- so I was pretty happy about that. She is getting excited and I guess I am getting nervous. I have to take her to the DMV and get an ID card which will make it easier for her to fly.

I really like her new soccer team so far. The coach is great about parent input and has a website where we even vote on things- what tournaments to do- what color under armor to get. She has been enjoying it.

My diet is going well, except I have limited options on what to wear. I now weight the least I have since Joelle was born and I am still working on it. I am finally getting some muscle definition in my arms and that is nice. I also have developed a two-pack - ha ha ha. If I keep up my cardio and my weight training I should be able to get down to where I would like to be. I would like to weigh what I did when I met Mitch. It is about 15 pounds less from what I weighed in high school and 20 lbs from now.

I got an iphone and I am so addicted! It is amazing. It has my caledar, my music, a gps and navigation system, a diet program- I input what I eat and how much I exercise and it calculates the calories for me-a camera, full internet access, a recipe guide, pandora radio, google earth, famous quotes to look up, a tip caluclator, a regular calculator, my budget stuff, my email, everything- I can look up the nearest hospital or restaurant, movie times and all that- plus did I mention it is also a phone?? These are the things I have found that it can do- but I have only had it a week and haven't really gotten that many applications.

Mitch is doing well and is thankfully staying on day sort.

We had our team meeting tonight for the new team. Looks like it is going to be much more competitive than the old team. The first three weeks of practice will be all conditioning- that should be good for Jo.

I had my game tonight. I scored and we won!! We have four new players on my team and they are all very nice gals. I do have to share this though. After the game one of them thought looked really familiar so she asked what high school I went to. So I said Fort and she said oh me too! And I said what year did you graduate and she said 1999. Best compliment ever.

Joelle is going to Arizona for a week with her friend Taylor this summer. We just got all the information for her trip. Looks like she will have a lot of fun.

What a relief!

Joelle had soccer tryouts this weekend. It was rough. She had decided to tryout for the team she played spring ball with, not her old team. This was a huge leap. All the teams have tryouts at the same time on the same days in different locations. Basically you choose a team to tryout for and then pray you make it because you can't tryout elsewhere. The team Jo tried out for was very competitive and has a very good coach. I was really worried. But it was her choice. The coach called last night and asked her to join the team. He is taking 16 players (originally I had heard 14) but 16 is better. The thing is the coach said Joelle is a developmental player- meaning he sees her as someone he can coach and develop into a good player. He would like to see her more aggressive and taking more shots, These are things Mitch and I already knew she had to work on. Basically he said she would not be getting much playing time, until she earned it. We talked about it and Joelle decided that she still wanted to be on the team and that she did think she could earn more field time as the season progresses. We will see how it goes. Mitch and I are happy she made the team- because it is what she wanted. We will just see how she does with it.

My news is that I have been kinda a wreck. I think with my weight change, my dosage on my hormones also needs to change. I am going in on Wednesday to see my doctor and hopefully get all squared away.

Are you kidding me?

Mom- I know you already heard this story, but.....

Ok so Friday Mitch will turn 40. For the past 6 months I have been asking him what he wants to do. I have gone from a party at Green Meadows, to maybe going to Vegas, to now a BBQ with friends. He said he didn't want me to do anything. That he just wanted a small bbq after school with some friends. Mitch is the type of guy where if you plan something or try to get him to do something he doesn't want to do he is a total pain in the ass to be around. He can even be rude. So I was not planning a hug party. Now he is saying what are you planning for my b-day and now my small BBQ has become an event to which MItch has invited 50 people! And he has been giving me a hard time cause I haven't planned anything. So now I have a list of stuff to do that is a mile long. I told him I was ordering acake and he had the nerve to say I don't need a cake. I know for a fact if I did not have a cake he would say hey it is my birthday. Where is my cake? I just want to kick his ass. So I am running around trying to get massive amounts of crap done. Hope you all are enjoying your weekend.

So here are a couple of recent family photos! You can see how tall Joelle is and how Mitch and I have slimmed down a bit! We have been really busy with soccer and work and exercising. I will blog more when I get time.
